USk Geneva – June 2026 sketchwalk – Maison-Royale

June 27 @ 11:0013:30

This month we’ll meet at the Maison-Royale.

Meeting point: In front of Maison-Royale at Quai Gustave-Ador, 46

Classified as a historical monument by the Canton of Geneva in 2001, the Maison Royale is undoubtedly the most impressive building on the harbor, yet it has never housed a crowned head! Built between 1907 and 1909 by architects Henri Garcin and Charles Bizot, it sparked the anger of Genevans, who dubbed it ‘the jewel of macaque taste’ during the 1909 facade competition, all due to the particular architectural tastes of the epoch.

Don’t forget your sunscreen and hat! ☀️

As always, please bring your sketching material:

• Sketchbook/Paper pad,
• Pencils, rubber, pens,
• Watercolors, brushes,
• Folding stool, field easel
• etc…
