Sketchcrawl in and around the kHaus, Basel

At the kHaus, the former main building of the Basel barracks on the banks of the Rhein in Kleinbasel (Link: kHaus), we’ll make ourselves comfortable in the ‘Plaza’ – a passageway, foyer and stairwell designed as a public living room (Link: Plaza). Here we can sketch the sculptural staircases, the architecture and the interior design (Link: Architecture). We can sketch each other or take turns modelling briefly to warm up. Outside on the Rhein side, with its cosy bistro, the riverbank is a popular subject; people play boules and the Klingental ferry stops at its jetty. On the side facing the barracks courtyard, the barracks grounds open up, where, in dry weather, people always meet, sit, chat, skateboard, or whatever.

Meeting point: at 2.00 pm in front of the entrance to the kHaus, on the side facing the Rhein (Unterer Rheinweg, see map). We’ll also meet there at 4.00 pm to show each other our sketches.
