Saturday, 19 September 2026: Sketchcrawl Basel at the Botanical Gardens

Although the Botanical Gardens in the heart of Basel’s Old Town are not large, they are home to a wealth of botanical diversity in themed greenhouses, outdoor areas and hidden corners. Animals also live in the Tropical and Cloud Forest House. Today, over 7,500 different plant species from all the major habitats on Earth thrive in the garden. That is almost three times as many species as occur in the wild in Central Europe. The architecture is also worth sketching, be it that of trees or greenhouses, or the underside of a huge leaf from the famous Amazon water lily, spread out on a table.
