SUMMARY:Saturday\, 5 September 2026: Sketchcrawl Basel at a Singspiel rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Photo: The Erlacherhof without the set for the production \n  \nWe have been invited to sketch during the rehearsal of the Singspiel *Die Fischerin* (1782) by Corona Schr?ter and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It will be accompanied by guitar and harpsichord. A small ad hoc ensemble has enthusiastically set about breathing life into these songs at selected locations where Goethe once stayed. Anyone who wishes to do so can also sketch during the performance in the evening. \n  \n1. Rehearsal\nWe?ll meet at the Erlacherhof in St. Johann\, which Goethe visited twice. This is where some of the rehearsals will take place\, as well as the final act of the performance in the evening. Although we?ll be sketching against a stylish backdrop\, the songs only last a few minutes\, so the performers will be changing positions frequently. This makes sketching quite challenging. \nMeeting point\n3.00 pm Erlacherhof\, St. Johanns-Vorstadt 17 (in the courtyard)\, Basel\nDuration until approx. 5.00 pm\, followed by a look at our sketches \n  \n2. Performance\n \nThe Singspiel will be performed from 8.00 pm until around 9.00 pm and takes the form of a promenade from St. Johanns-Rheinweg via various stops in St. Johann to the Erlacherhof\, where\, amongst other things\, the first musical setting of Goethe?s *Erlk?nig* will be performed. On the Rhine\, weidling boatmen will be incorporated into the proceedings. At around 8.30 pm\, dusk will slowly begin to fall and the finale of the performance will take place in the evening atmosphere by candlelight. \nIf you?d like to sketch during the performance\, you could head to the first station on your own as soon as the concert begins at 8.00 pm. This is in a different location to the meeting point for concert-goers\, so you?ll have time to settle in and sketch the first scene. Please send me a brief email to herrat-usk@bluewin.ch\, and I?ll send you the location of the first station and put you in touch with the artistic director\, Helena Langewitz\, so that you can be added to the guest list. \n  \nThe ensemble is very keen to receive sketches from the rehearsal or performance\, especially as Goethe himself also used to draw. I would then organise this for you. Please send me a sketch in high-resolution image format to my email address given above. The quality of the sketch doesn?t matter. Treffpunkt ist um 14Uhr beim Kursschiffhafen an der Badhausstrasse. \nZeichnungsort: Die Schiffl?ndte ist der Hafen\, an welchem die grossen Kursschiffe anlegen\, aber auch die kleineren Schiffe und Segelschiffe haben dort ihren Anlegeplatz. Zur linken Seite findet sich ein grosser Park mit Spielplatz\, das See-Gymnasium und ein Ruder-Clubhaus. Zur rechten Seite befindet sich das Strandbad Biel\, das Lago Lodge und der Zihl-Fluss.\nAlles in allem ein ruhiger Erholungsort direkt am Seeufer mit viel Gr?n und einigen Restaurants.\nIn Laufn?he befindet sich das Schloss Nidau\, der Bahnhof Biel sowie die Sch?sspromenade.

DESCRIPTION:Although the Botanical Gardens in the heart of Basel?s Old Town are not large\, they are home to a wealth of botanical diversity in themed greenhouses\, outdoor areas and hidden corners. Animals also live in the Tropical and Cloud Forest House. Today\, over 7\,500 different plant species from all the major habitats on Earth thrive in the garden. That is almost three times as many species as occur in the wild in Central Europe. September 2026\nZeit: von 10:00 bis 12:00\nOrt: Dreilindenpark Luzern\nTreffpunkt: bei der Villa Vicovaro (ehemaliges Konservatorium) \nAnfahrt:\nBus Nr. 14 ab Bahnhof bis Haltestelle «Konservatorium»\, von dort noch 5 Minuten zu Fuss nach oben zum Park.\nEs hat vereinzelt Parkplätze im Quartier. \nWir hoffen auf gutes Wetter. Bei Regen gibt es ein Alternativ-Programm. Spätestens am Sonntagmorgen wird auf Instagram oder auf dem Blog bekannt gegeben\, wenn wir woanders zeichnen. \nDas Treffen ist für alle\, die gerne zeichnen. DESCRIPTION:Diesen Sonntag zeichnen wir in Magglingen\, Treffpunkt ist um 14 Uhr auf der BASPO-Terrasse neben dem Grand Hotel. Diese ist nur 5min von der Magglingenbahn entfernt. \nZeichnungsort: Magglingen ist die Heimat des Bundesamtes für Sport BASPO und es befinden sich eine Vielzahl an Sportgebäuden\, Unterkünfte und übermotivierte Sportstudenten in dem kleinen Dorf über Biel. Umgeben von Wald und grünen Wiesen\, bietet es viele ruhige Orte zum Verweilen und Zeichnen. Von der BASPO-Terrasse aus hat man bei schönem Wetter eine wunderbare Sicht auf Biel\, das Seeland und die Berge\, manchmal sogar bis Bern und Thun.

DESCRIPTION:Autumn is slowly arriving – this time we will sketch around Höngg Church. From its elevated position above the vineyard\, there are sweeping views across Zurich and\, with a bit of luck\, the first vine leaves will already be showing their autumn colours. But it is equally worth looking in the other direction: around the church you will find the historic rectory\, the old schoolhouse and other buildings from Höngg’s former village centre. The church itself is one of the oldest in the area\, and its distinctive tower still shapes the neighbourhood’s skyline today. Plenty of subjects\, in other words\, for very different sketches. \nMeeting point: On the square in front of Höngg Reformed Church\, Zürich. \nPlease bring your own drawing materials and\, ideally\, a small folding stool. No prior experience required. We sketch for about 2 hours\, solo or in small groups\, at an easy pace. Afterwards we regroup\, share our sketches and take a group photo.

DESCRIPTION:Come d’abitudine a ottobre invece di trovarci a Locarno per il nostro incontro mensile\, ci spostiamo a Bellinzona per poter venire incontro a tanti sketchers di tutta la svizzera. Quest’anno abbiamo anche il piacere di ricevere il gruppo che viene da Intragna organizzato da Mario. \nA diferenza degli altri anni iniziamo la mattina con un orario flessibile dalle 10.00 qui arriva puo iniziare a disegnare. Gli spunti sono multiplecipi\, potete rimanere in centro con il mercato ma anche salire al Castel Grande per una vista dal alto di Bellinzona. Vogliamo essere flessibili con l’orario\, pensando a chi viene da lontano\, in questo modo nessuno dovrà perdersi il benvenuto al incontro.
