Sketching the Grossmünster cloister

The summer temperatures are here to stay, making it the perfect time to seek out one of the shadiest spots in Zurich’s Old Town. Our destination is the cloister of the Grossmünster. Although thousands of people pass the Grossmünster every day, many have never discovered this peaceful retreat. With its Romanesque arches, elegant columns, the interplay of light and shadow, and views into the small garden, it offers a unique atmosphere and plenty of inspiring sketching subjects.
Meeting point: On the square in front of the main entrance to the Grossmünster, by the large lime tree.
Please bring your own drawing materials and, ideally, a small folding stool. No prior experience required. We sketch for about 2 hours, solo or in small groups, at an easy pace. Afterwards we regroup, share our sketches and take a group photo.
